The training and development profession has undergone significant transformation in the last decade. Has your professional development kept up with the changes?

The ASTD Competency Model redefines the skills and knowledge required for L&D pros  to be successful now and in the future. It captures changes in the industry driven by digital, mobile, and social technology; demographic shifts; globalization; and economic forces.

This session will give you unique insights into the future of L&D and organizational learning  through the newly redefined Competency Model and give you valuable tools to assess your current professional development.

You will also be able to create a roadmap for planning future development and filling any gaps.

When you leave this session, you will have created an action plan that will help you get started in developing your future in L&D.

This presentation will explore the following:

  • Understanding the ASTD Competency Model
  • Defining the foundational competencies important to all L&D professionals now and in the future.
  • What the Competency Model means to your organization
  • Using the Competency Model to create a roadmap for career development
  • Establishing professional development benchmarks

Participants will learn about recent developments in the ASTD Competency Model and how it impacts professionals in the L&D community, their development and their organizations.

Beginners can map a course into the industry, practitioners can use the competency model to project skills needed in their L&D staff to meet future needs, experts can use new model to focus strengths and develop new skills relevant to industry drivers.
