According to the CLC, 44% of senior executives report that integration is the greatest source of error in M&A and that overcoming human capital challenges is most critical to integration success. Almost 70% of mergers fail to achieve revenue synergies according to the Boston Consulting Group. This is usually not because the organization calculated the potential inaccurately, but because of decisions and actions taken during integration planning and execution that degrades the value of the deal. The most common issues cited are related to culture, structure, leadership and communication. Why then is OD (let alone HR) not always brought in sooner to help with M&As – this is our domain! OD should be a key function in any acquisition. She’ll share experiences, practical tools, and examples to successfully guide an organization through complex integrations.

Topics will include:

  • OD’s Role – where it begins and leads
  • The importance of talent management, culture, and change in integration
  • Key inputs and deliverables from due diligence through integration
  • Practical tools to lead the organization through change
  • Tips and lessons learned
