Engaging Excellence: The Discovery and Dialogue

For our June 8 session, we continue our direct work with Flawless Consulting by Peter Block. This time focusing on the Discovery and Dialogue phase.

Here are just two comments from participants of our May BizSIG:

‘Thank you for an excellent interactive learning session yesterday.  I appreciate you sharing your expertise so we can grow as professionals.’ Marian Sherman, MBA

‘It was a great session this morning and really enjoyed the format. I also appreciated the chance to practice and have feedback on the process, it shortens the learning curve nicely.’ Dr. Cynthia Boccara, D.C.

The only thing the session lacked was Internal Consultants…

Internal consultants play a vital role in an organization’s talent development. Their participation is critical for organizational success.

Again, Peter Block’s (Best Selling Author of Flawless Consulting) definition of a consultant: a consultant is a person who is trying to have some influence over a group or organization but has no direct power to make changes or implement programs.

Their ability to guide an organization through the Peter Block’s five phases of consulting defines their ability to influence and create change within an organization.

The five phases of any consulting project are:

  1. Entry and contracting
  2. Discovery and dialogue
  3. Feedback and the decision to act
  4. Engagement and implementation
  5. Extension, recycle, or termination

So if you are passionate about your job, your role within the organization, and your ideas, join us for June 8 BizSIG session.

You will be provided tools to widen your sphere of influence. This session will also be highly interactive and informative. The word that best describes Peter Block’s work is authentic. And that’s how you will describe your experience in this session: authentic.

In this second Engaging Excellence session focusing on discovery and dialogue we will explore:

  • The two most valuable things consultants do
  • Methods to be used
  • Data to be collected
  • Time frames
  • And some of the differences between internal and external consultants

The program will be facilitated by Jeffrey Hansler. Come ready to take your skills to the next level and join us in the fun and learning.

Jeffrey Hansler, author of Sell Little Red Hen! Sell! published in eleven languages, is a consultant and educator. An expert at organizational development, leadership, and persuasive communication, he is well versed in our industry with extensive consulting experience in construction, healthcare, government, tech, manufacturing, and service.
